While you are out hunting for gifts for your husbands, sisters, mothers, children and a whole list of other people as well as hinting around about your wish list , you begin to lust after a sparkly bauble for yourself. Although none of us really 'need' jewelry (hush!), it's only natural when you are in the holiday spirit, pulling out the glimmering lights and ornaments for the Christmas tree or Hanukah bush, answering invites to the festive occasions of holiday parties, you begin to long for a few ornaments to dress up the gunmetal grey silk cocktail number, the tuxedo style suit or the sea of black dresses that line your closet. And, as guilty as you might be feeling, your work out some figures in your head, concoct reasons why you can't live without a new jewel or two and you decide to splurge! Good for you. I say that, because I do it too!

So, instead of obsessing about your finances and whether you should plunk down your credit card, I have chosen my objects of desire for the season—some of the best jewels I have seen that you too might want to buy and wear this holiday season. These are all pieces that will dress up anything you own and that you can wear well beyond the holidays. These styles are timelessly edgy, elegantly versatile, daringly chic, subtly hip and balance the present jewelry mood with a presence that will last for years to come. Sure I might be enabling you, but if any of these jewels tug at your wallet and your heartstrings, go for it and have fun and look fabulous doing it.
