Wrathschild Express Love for L.A. With "Angeles"

In March, indie pop heavyweights Simon Curtis and Wolfy unexpectedly joined creative forces to create the unique duo now known as Wrathschild. Following their glorious debut release, "Fall Into Love", the two artists have returned with an anthem about their favorite city: Los Angeles. The new single, "Angeles", follows in the footsteps of its predecessor as an original pop tune with impressive vocals from both talents.

On "Angeles", Curtis and Wolfy sing of the triumphant highs and tragic lows of living in the city of dreams. Written about each of their personal experiences in L.A., the artists trade off on the well-written verses while coming together for a soaring chorus which gives the new effort a truly heavenly vibe. Both give commendable performances on an honest pop song that stays true to their sound and style.

In a recent interview with The Advocate, Curtis opened up about the track's meaning, saying it was an anthem of the feelings of loving and loathing the city. Even though it is called the city of dreams, it can also be the city of broken dreams for some. "This place and I, we have an affair, it's beautiful and violent of full of despair," the duo sings of their bittersweet relationship with one of the country's more famous music destinations.

"Angeles" is a nice follow up to Wrathschild's captivating debut. Though it may not be as instantly intriguing as one would have hoped for, it does a great job at cementing the artist's path as a new duo. I mean, how many male/female acts are out there today? The music is a fresh approach on the currently stale genre that is pop. Both artists were amazing during their solo days, but the pairing seems real and organic.
