Essie Encrusted Treasures

Hi everyone!

I hope you're all feeling great!
Today I have the most original and unique collection that Essie has ever released and it's called Encrusted Treasures! Since I saw the PR info for this collection I've been really excited to trying it!

This collection consists of 6 nail polishes. I have 5 of them to show you. The one I don't have is Hors d'oeuvres.

NB: I have the European version of the polishes with the large flat brush.

Belugaria - "live like a czarina. this richly ornamented jet black nail lacquer is laced with highly textured matte glitter with flashes of rainbow holographics".
This polish is really something! I guess you either love it or hate it. It's heavily textured, much more than OPI liquid sand or Zoya pixie dust polishes!! Here I used 2 coats. You have to bit a bit careful when applying it because of the textured particles but it was alright. I have just swatched it and not worn it as a full manicure yet but it seems to take longer than regular polishes to get fully dry.
That being said, I must admit that I like this polish although I know it's not a polish for everybody. What I like is its grungy aspect and I bet it would look great as part of a black and white mix 'n' match manicure. I will have to try that for sure! I also like the holographic hex glitters in it. Some of it are sadly covered by the black base and don't look holo any more but some of them keep their holo effect and it looks very pretty when you move your hands and see the rainbows dancing on your nails.

Ignite The Night - "the scintillating light from this sparkling hematite nail lacquer with a superfine matte finish fans the flames of passion for luxurious fashion".
It has an overall charcoal look and is very sparkly. I guess that if you like Beyond Cozy, you will love Ignite The Night because it's the darker version of it. Ignite The Night is very festive and perfect for the holidays! That's a lovely polish that I'm sure a lot of people will like! It's  a 2 or 3 coater. I used 3 coats here for the purpose of the photos.

On A Silver Platter - "violet holographic glitter and antique silver add bold contrast to this pearlescent gold polish that proclaims: the world is yours for the taking".
To be honest, I didn't think I would like this polish but unexpectedly I really like it and it's even one of my favorites from this collection. I tried to layer it over black but finally I prefer it on its own. I think it looks just amazing this way! I used 1 coat over black or 3 coats on its own. In real life, 2 coats are enough to reach full opacity.

Peak Of Chic - "ascend the pinnacle of fashion and freeze your well-manicured assets in this alpine white holographic polish with icy crystal fringe".
This polish is made of matte white and silver holographic bar glitters in a clear base. I used one coat over Essie Mezmerised. It's a lovely polish but not my favorite. But again, I think it would look great in a mix 'n' match manicure or as an accent nail.

Lots Of Lux - "pile on the opulence and perfect the art of manicure maximalism in this shimmering blue lapis lazuli lacquer with a sleek matte finish".
Lots of Lux is your typical textured polish, similar to OPI liquid sand and Zoya pixie dust polishes. It's not as textured as Belugaria. In that sense it's easier to wear than Belugaria. The base color is gorgeous and I love the sparkles in it. That's one of the must-have polishes from this collection in my opinion! I used 2 coats here but it's opaque in only 1 coat (I have only 1 coat on my pinkie).

direct light (see the sparkles)

indirect light (it's matte!)

I also tried to add top coat over it. I used 2 coats of Sèche Vite. **LOVE**

So what do you think of this collection?
I'm personally happy to see essie doing crazy polishes like the Encrusted Treasures. They're much fun! Although Belugaria is not a polish that everybody will like because of its heavy texture, I found myself liking it! I don't think I would wear it as a full manicure but in a skittlette (on the middle and ring fingers for example), a mix 'n' match or as an accent nail, I'm sure it would look awesome and I will definitely try one of these options. In the same way, Ignite The Night, On A Silver Platter, and Peak Of Chic are also perfect for nail art and to add some twist to your manicures. Finally, Lots of Lux is gorgeous and has an awesome formula!!
