I am happy to celebrate my 500th blog post in 2 1/2 years of blogging! I have really enjoyed it - and the BEST part EVER is meeting YOU!! Thanks for being a part of my life. :-)
It took 2 days and mostly 2 people - but the gazebo is done. Dayle and Kristi, our DIL, did most of it with some help from our 2 boys, Travis and Shawn on the finishing part. I am really not sure what to call it, the manufacturer called it a "trellis". And it's not a true gazebo, and it's kind of a pergola. I thought of "dining pavilion".. lol! But I like the sound of gazebo.. I don't know what to call it. What do you think? Now.. I had wanted to "stage" it for the photos, but mother nature decided to rain on our parade, so here it is without a tablecloth, or crocheted throws and pillow.. without the lantern or faerie lights. Maybe I can do that when the sun shines again.
We are going to plant those Jasmine plants in pretty pots and train it to climb up the trellis'. It frames up the waterfall and pond nicely. I definitely want some more colorful chair cushions.. these are drab and grey and worn.
Looking south to the barn and our mossy garage and shed.
Rain, rain, go away.
Remember I told you about the lady in my "We Love Lucy II" group that is battling cancer - and that another lady in our group organized us all to make some granny squares to send to her so she could sew them together for a blanket for her? We also were supposed to take a photo of our squares in front of a local landmark - so here is my photo with the Columbia River Gorge behind them. :-) (You can join the Facebook group by clicking on the link on my blog - top right.)
On Monday when Kristi and my son Travis were visiting and helping us out around the farm, I asked Caleb if he'd like grandma to trim his curls a bit, they were in his eyes and he said yes. I got permission from Kristi and I got my scissors and brush and got busy. He *loves* his curls, so I was a bit nervous, hoping I would do a good job. I must confess, that after I'd done the trim, I was worried I'd messed up... so I whisked him into the house and we washed his hair in the sink and I was SOOOOOOOOO relieved to see it all curled right back up. ::WHEW:: Then I trimmed Hayden's hair on his neck and ears and he looked very nice too. Here are my blurry, wiggle-y, hard to photograph little darlings. I showed Caleb the photo and told him his hair was blue.. lol! He said it was the tv, grandma!
They love each other and giggle and wrestle and hug and tumble and are so cute.
Today I am heading off to volunteer at Multnomah Falls with Shirley. Denise is ill with a cold. She just got back from Ashland, OR where they watched 6 plays at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Next month they had to Russia!! Also next month my daughter and 2 granddaughters are visiting for 10 days! Woohoo! I hope you have a fun weekend planned. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
